OK. So your business has a website. So what?
Try a little research. All you need are Google (or Yahoo or Live search) and some knowledge of your business.
Consider the customers that DON'T know you. When they search for your products or services, what terms (keywords) would they use to find you? Next step is to try it yourself.
While doing your research, it's best to logout of Google or Yahoo or Live first. Why? Because they all refine their searches based on your search history. Let's start with a clean slate.
Search using the keywords that you think your potential customers might use. Do you see your website? Is it on the first page? Try again with other keywords and phrases. Are you there? Is your competition there?
If your customer base is geographically centered, try the test again. This time add to your keywords and phrases the geographic terms (city, state, etc). Are you there now?
If you are not satisfied with your results, especially if your website and /or business have been around for awhile, you need some professional help.
We know how to make your website work for you and improve your search position. There's no better time to increase your customer base than during an economic downturn. Improving your website is economical - and effective.
